Incap Estonia partnered with Solaride to ignite enthusiasm among young people for the world of engineering and sustainable technology. Together, they organised an inspiring day for students from grades 7 through 12 in Saaremaa. Held at Incap’s Kuressaare factory, this event brought together over 130 young minds eager to explore the innovative world of technology and learn more about advanced electronics manufacturing.
A day of discovery and innovation
The event was filled with excitement as students from across Saaremaa had the opportunity to see the solar-powered vehicle up close and understand the manufacturing processes that bring such technology to life. Managing Director of Incap Estonia, Margus Jakobson, commented on the high interest from local schools: “It was a pleasure to see so many bright, eager young people in our factory. Today was a perfect example of how technology can captivate and inspire, and we hope it has ignited a passion for engineering among the students.”
Hands-on learning in engineering workshops
The workshops allowed students to put their skills into practice by assembling wind-powered cars and boats under the guidance of Solaride team members and Janno Tuulik, a physics teacher from Lümanda school. These practical exercises challenged the students to apply their theoretical knowledge to tangible engineering tasks, enhancing their understanding and skills.
Prior to these activities, the students viewed the documentary “Solaride: Courage to Do the Impossible.” This film added a motivational layer to the day’s events, encouraging young participants to take on challenges and actively shape their futures.
Fostering the future of engineering
This initiative is part of Incap’s commitment to advancing engineering education and motivating young people to pursue careers in this field. Supporting the Solaride student project for the past three years, Incap has played a pivotal role in the development of the solar car. This commitment not only aids in technological advancement but also ensures that the next generation is equipped to address global challenges with innovative and sustainable solutions.
