Latest results from IDC's Asia/Pacific Dynamic IT Benchmark 2010 survey reveal that that the role of the CIO is evolving into a position more tightly aligned with business drivers. To help CIOs address some of these challenges and identify opportunities to grow their businesses, International Data Corporation (IDC) today announces the launch of Information Technology Experience Program (InTEP) Singapore.
Eva Au, Managing Director for IDC Asia/Pacific comments, "From our conversations with CIOs in Singapore, we have come to realize that increasingly they are receiving KPIs linked to business priorities, revenue generation and product/ process innovation. The fundamental role of IT is shifting and CIOs today are expected to support revenue growth. To assist CIOs to meet their goals, I am pleased to announce the launch of InTEP Singapore. This exclusive program is essentially a close-knit community for CIOs to engage in peer networking and mentoring, get access to relevant IDC research, and engage IDC's analysts for exclusive conversations."
For the roll-out of InTEP Singapore, IDC is leveraging the success of the program which was launched in New Zealand and Australia (ANZ) in 1996. Members of InTEP Singapore will include senior CIO-level executives from organizations across Singapore including medium and large enterprises, and government agencies.
Peter Macaulay, IDC's Principal for End User Practice in New Zealand and Lead for InTEP New Zealand says, "The launch of InTEP Singapore is timely. The program taps on a breadth and depth of experience and knowledge from IDC and CIOs to help the latter deliver business value at a time when their role is fast changing."
Peter adds, "InTEP New Zealand has been a success since its launch more than a decade ago. CIOs in New Zealand have benefitted from the program in a number of ways such as developing winning strategies using IDC's research to support their case, deciding on the optimal way to achieve business goals based on global best practices, weighing the variety of vendor options, and more. I am confident that InTEP Singapore will achieve similar success."
As members of InTEP, CIOs will get the opportunity to leverage the experience and best practices of their peers locally and globally, take part in leadership development programs, receive annual on-site executive presentations by IDC analysts, and get access to IDC's analysts, research and events. IDC believes that InTEP will help CIOs prioritize their strategic IT agenda to reach business goals, overcome major IT challenges, identify opportunities, and, develop the next layer of IT management.
